Weekend Breaks in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds

Whether you are planning a romantic weekend, a family celebration or just a couple of days to get away from it all, the beautiful area of Oxfordshire and Cotswolds ticks all the boxes!

There are numerous hotels, guest houses, bed and breakfasts and holiday cottages that offer weekend breaks in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds which will make choosing where to stay difficult.

Certainly the main hotels are looking to give you the opportunity of a special all inclusive rate for your weekend should you require this which would normally include accommodation, breakfast and dinner.

Eating out is fun, trying to decide where to eat and what to eat, with the many restaurants and the choice of worldwide cuisine that is on offer.

Should you decide to stay in Oxford city itself then there are many historical places to see with the colleges of Oxford University round every corner with spectacular architecture with the Carfax Tower giving splendid views over the city.

There are plenty of places to shop in Oxfordshire with the Bicester Village with its numerous brand name shops or Banbury Quay or the Oxford Westgate and the Clarendon Centre in Oxford itself.

Should you wish to try something different why not go cruising along the River Thames or punting on the Isis or Cherwell from Cherwell Boathouse.

Weekend breaks in Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds will take you to picturesque towns such as Witney, Woodstock, Burford and Chipping Norton in the north of the county and beautiful Henley on Thames with its lovely riverside walks and delightful town with plenty of places to shop and eat and should you go in July you can see the famous Henley Regatta taking place.

If you feel more energetic then you could walk part of the Ridgeway, the Thames path or amble through the Chiltern Hills near Watlington and Chinnor, the countryside is breathtaking.

During your weekend break don’t forget to browse around the many art galleries and antique centres that Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds have to offer in their towns.

If country houses are for you then there are plenty of National Trust properties and other historical houses in the area for you to look around. One of the main places to visit is Blenheim Palace which has something for all the family to enjoy with its wonderful gardens and spectacular house.
